External short circuit test requirements

UN38.3 certification

  Keep the test environment temperature at 57±4°C, so that the external temperature of the battery or battery sample reaches 57±4°C.
    The positive and negative samples were short-circuited with a total resistance loop of less than 0.1 Ω, and the external temperature of the sample returned to 57 ± 4 ° C and remained short-circuited for more than 1 hour.
    The battery or battery must be observed for another 6 hours to reach a conclusion.
    RESULTS: During the test and within 6 hours after the test, the temperature of the cell or battery sample did not exceed 170 °C, no disintegration, no cracking and no ignition occurred.

UL certification

 The positive and negative electrodes of each test battery sample were short-circuited with a Cu wire with a resistance value <0.1 Ω. The battery was discharged until it caught fire or exploded, or until the battery was completely discharged, and the temperature of the casing was again lowered to room temperature.
    The test was carried out at room temperature and 55 ± 5 ° C, respectively, and the battery was stabilized at room temperature and 55 ± 5 ° C and then shorted.
    The battery should be tested separately unless the manufacturer indicates that it is in series or in parallel. For series or parallel applications, the other five sets of batteries are tested, and the maximum number of batteries used is determined by the number of series/parallel used.   
    When there is an overcurrent or thermal protection device in the battery and it has been UL approved, the battery should be tested under the maximum load condition that the protection device is not open, and the unprotected protective device must be shorted.
    Result: No fire, no explosion, the temperature of the outer casing or battery case does not exceed 150 °C.

CQC certification

  After fully charging the battery pack, place them in an environment of 20 °C ± 5 °C and 55 °C ± 5 °C, short-circuit the positive and negative terminals of the battery pack, and the total external short-circuit resistance is 80mΩ ± 20mΩ. For the battery pack with the protection circuit removed or without the protection circuit shorted 24h, the battery pack that retains the protection circuit is short-circuited to the protection circuit.
    Result: No fire, no explosion, no leakage.

CB certification

    The fully charged batteries were placed in an environment of 20 °C ± 5 °C and 55 °C ± 5 °C, respectively, and each battery was short-circuited with an internal resistance of 80 mΩ ± 20 mΩ. The battery has been tested for 24 hours or the temperature of the straight battery case has dropped by 20%.
    Result: No fire, no explosion, no leakage.
