I. Introduction to EU REACH Certification

REACH refers to the European Union Regulations “Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals”, which is the European Union's regulations for the preventive management of all chemicals entering its market. It will be officially implemented on June 1, 2007. It involves substances, collocations, articles, and the transmission of information about SVHC. So far, there are 163 SVHC species, and the follow-up will increase. ECHA is consulting the public about 20 new substances, which will be put into the SVHC list. 

Second, the EU REACH certification product type

1.Registration

All chemical substances with an annual output or import volume exceeding 1 ton need to be registered, and chemical substances with an annual output or import volume of more than 10 tons should also be submitted for chemical safety report.

2. Evaluation (Evaluation)

Includes file assessment and material assessment. The file assessment is to verify the integrity and consistency of the company's submission of the registration dossier. Substance assessment refers to the risk of confirming that a chemical substance is harmful to human health and the environment.

3. Authorization

Authorize the production and import of chemical substances with certain dangerous characteristics and attract people's attention, including CMR, PBT, vPvB, etc.

4. Restriction

If a substance or its constituents, products are manufactured, put on the market or used, the risks to human health and the environment cannot be adequately controlled, and they will be restricted from being produced or imported within the EU. Note: PBT persistence, bioaccumulation and toxic chemicals vPvB high persistence, highly bioaccumulative chemicals CMR carcinogenicity, mutagenicity and biotoxic substances
