Overview of NCC Certification

Taiwan NCC Certification (National Communications Commission Certification) is a mandatory certification regulated by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission. All communication and information equipment circulating and used in the Taiwan market must obtain NCC certification to be legally sold and utilized. The NCC certification certificate is valid for life with no factory inspection requirements.

Scope of Certified Products

1. Low Power Radio Frequency Equipment (LPE)

• Wireless data transmission devices: Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth headsets/speakers, ZigBee devices
• Short-range communication devices: Wireless keyboards, wireless mice, wireless headset microphones
• Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) devices: Operating at frequencies 125kHz~134kHz, 13.56MHz, 27MHz, 922MHz~928MHz, 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz
• Other wireless devices: Two-way radios, radio-controlled toys, various wireless anti-theft devices

2. Telecom Terminal Equipment (TTE)

• Cellular communication devices: Mobile phones, tablets (supporting GSM, DCS, 3G, 4G, 5G, etc.)
• Public switched telephone network (PSTN) equipment: Wired telephones (including VoIP phones), fax machines, telephone answering machines
• Land mobile communication devices: Mobile data terminals, trunked wireless telephones
• IoT devices: Smart wearables (e.g., smart watches) and smart home devices (e.g., smart door locks)

NCC Certification Process

1. Project Initiation: Customers provide product information; we conduct evaluation, quote, and sign a service agreement.
2. Sample Testing: Customers send samples to the laboratory for pre-testing and rectification suggestions (if applicable).
3. Document Preparation: We assist customers in preparing complete application materials:
   • Application form (signed and sealed by the customer’s legal person)
   • Authorization letter (signed and sealed by the customer’s legal person)
   • Product specifications and antenna specifications
   • Product manual (must include NCC warning statements)
   • Product circuit diagrams, block diagrams, and appearance photos
4. Formal Testing: After passing pre-testing, samples are sent to Taiwan for official testing to obtain test reports.
5. Report Review: The certification authority reviews the test report and application materials.
6. Certificate Issuance: Upon approval, the NCC certification certificate is issued.

Total Cycle: Typically 4–6 weeks, depending on product complexity.

• Company qualification documents: Copy of business license
• Product technical documents: Product specifications, circuit schematics, block diagrams, bill of materials (BOM)
• RF-related documents: RF specifications, antenna specifications
• Product appearance documents: External photos (indicating antenna and label positions), internal photos (indicating RF chips)
• User manual: Must include NCC warning statements
• Frequency-setting software: For RF testing
