On September 21, 2023, representatives from GTG-ESTL traveled to PXID to present the UL2849 certificate for e-bikes. This milestone marks a further elevation of China’s e-bike products in the international market and has earned them credibility for global circulation.

  PXID and GTG-ESTL first connected by chance. As a pioneering domestic e-bike enterprise, PXID faced confusion about the new UL2849 standard at the time: How to interpret the standard? What testing procedures are required? And what materials should be used for e-bikes to meet the standard? PXID brought all these questions to GTG-ESTL, which immediately organized a team of technical experts to travel to Huai’an for on-site explanations.

The first technical seminar lasted 3 hours. Due to the novelty of the standard, GTG-ESTL connected with UL technical experts in real time during the meeting to clear up technical obstacles for PXID. During this session, GTG-ESTL demonstrated its "customer-first" service philosophy, "professional and efficient" capabilities, and strong resource backing – convincing PXID to confirm the cooperation on the spot. However, cooperation was just the first step; the product’s compliance with the standard was about to face rigorous tests.

Overcoming Two Key Challenges

1. Challenge 1: Witnessed Testing by UL Professionals
   To maximize product safety and ensure the accuracy of standard testing processes and data, the UL2849 standard requires witnessed testing by UL professional engineers. On the day of the witnessed test, UL engineers inspected each prototype, reviewed the operational steps and testing methods of GTG-ESTL’s engineers, and verified the test data. Ultimately, the UL engineers confirmed the test passed, paving the way for PXID to obtain the certificate.

2. Challenge 2: Heavy Workload of Document Review
   The document review phase also showcased GTG-ESTL’s professionalism and attention to detail. For the product manual submitted by PXID, GTG-ESTL meticulously verified whether parameters, installation guides, warnings, and usage instructions complied with the standard; whether the dimensional drawings of product components matched the actual products; and whether the labeled content was consistent. This thoroughness ensured that the documents PXID submitted to UL passed the review on the first attempt, giving the product a head start in market launch.

GTG-ESTL has continued to enhance its internal capabilities and obtained authorization as a UL TPTDP (Testing Program Third Party Data Program) Laboratory in 2024. This means that under UL supervision, GTG-ESTL can conduct tests whose results are directly accepted by UL. This authorization significantly optimizes the certification process, shortens product testing cycles, improves testing efficiency, accelerates new product launches, and helps energy storage products quickly enter target markets – demonstrating the laboratory’s outstanding technical and management capabilities.
