In the field of safety certification for lithium batteries and electronic devices, UL1642, UL2054, and UL/CAS 62368-1 are three crucial standards. They impose strict safety requirements on lithium batteries, battery packs, and audio/video, information, and communication technology (AV/ICT) devices respectively. Today, we will delve into the core content and application scenarios of these standards.
UL1642 is a safety standard specifically developed for lithium batteries, covering design, manufacturing, and testing requirements for lithium batteries. It primarily focuses on the safety of lithium batteries under extreme conditions such as overcharging, short circuits, crushing, and high temperatures, ensuring that batteries do not pose hazards like fire or explosion during use.
UL2054 specifies safety requirements for battery packs (composed of multiple battery cells). It not only focuses on the safety of individual cells but also emphasizes the safety of the battery pack in terms of overall design, connection methods, and protection circuits.
UL/CAS 62368-1 is a safety standard for audio/video, information, and communication technology devices. It has replaced the previous UL60950-1 and UL60065 standards, adopting an energy classification method based on hazard sources and placing greater emphasis on the overall safety of devices.
The safety of battery products is closely related to the vital interests of every consumer. By obtaining UL certification, your products will gain international recognition, adding more trust and security to your brand.
GTG Group – Guangdong ESTL Technology Co., Ltd. (ESTL) is the first certification and testing institution in South China to obtain TPTDP (Testing Program Third Party Data Program) qualifications for UL1642, UL2054, and UL/CAS 62368-1. We provide UL testing and certification services for battery products. Choosing us helps you easily overcome certification barriers, making your battery products safer and more reliable in the global market.
