On December 23, 2025, China’s Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) issued Announcement No. 27 of 2025, launching a pilot reform for the Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) mark. Starting March 1, 2026, high-risk products including power banks, e-bikes and their safety accessories, and gas-burning appliances must adopt a new CCC mark with a traceability QR code.

1. Pilot Products

The reform applies to the following products under the CCC catalog:

Mobile power supplies (power banks)
Electric bicycles and their safety accessories
Gas-burning appliances and their safety accessories

2. New CCC Mark Requirements & Design

Core Change: CCC Mark + Traceability QR Code

The updated CCC mark features a traceability QR code printed on the right side of the standard CCC logo—the two elements must be adjacent and inseparable, with clear and complete patterns.

QR Code Function

Scanning the QR code (via WeChat, Alipay, or any standard QR scanner) provides instant access to:

CCC certificate number
Manufacturer name
Product model and specifications
Certificate status (valid/expired/suspended)
Certifying body information

3. Implementation Timeline

Date	Requirement
March 1, 2026	Newly certified products must use the QR code-enabled CCC mark before leaving the factory, being sold, imported, or used in business activities.
March 1, 2027	All certified products in the pilot scope must adopt the new mark (no exceptions).
Before March 1, 2027	Products already on the market with the existing CCC mark (without QR code) are not required to update the mark.

4. FAQ

Q1: Can the old CCC mark still be used during the transition period?

A: Yes. Products certified before March 1, 2026, can continue using the old mark until March 1, 2027. After that date, all newly manufactured products must use the new QR code-enabled mark.

Q2: Do consumers need a dedicated app to scan the QR code?

A: No. The QR code is compatible with standard scanning tools like WeChat and Alipay—no special app is required.

5. Key Compliance Notes for Enterprises

Mark Management: Establish internal systems to ensure QR code information matches product certification details, and maintain records of mark usage.
Timely Update: For products certified after March 1, 2026, immediately switch to the new mark to avoid non-compliance risks.
Certification Body Coordination: Collaborate with designated CCC certification bodies to obtain QR code files or pre-printed marks.
Post-Certification Supervision: Ensure compliance with mark requirements, as it will be a key focus of CNCA’s post-certification inspections.
