Type Approval for Radio Transmitting Equipment (SRRC Certification) is a mandatory administrative license for selling wireless devices in China. For products such as energy storage batteries with wireless modules, outdoor power supplies, and intelligent battery management devices, failure to obtain SRRC certification risks market bans and penalties. Especially with all old-standard certificates set to expire by December 31, 2025, and stricter new regulations in place, battery-powered products—characterized by the "intertwining of wireless performance and battery safety"—face significantly heightened certification difficulty.
The new rules drastically tighten spurious emission limits for the 2.4G, 5.1G, and 5.8G frequency bands: In the 2483.5~2500MHz band, the limit is stricter from -33dBm/100kHz to -40dBm/1MHz—a nearly 20dB increase in stringency after conversion. For battery-powered products, excessive power supply ripple or voltage fluctuations during endurance testing can easily cause radio frequency (RF) performance drift, leading to FAIL results in high-channel sideband tests (typically manifested as a stepped drop in waveform).
The new rules require 2.4G band devices to stop transmission within 13ms after detecting channel occupancy, and 5G band devices within 20ms—with a short control signal duty cycle ≤10%. However, battery-powered products often operate under extreme conditions (e.g., high/low temperatures, low battery), and traditional testing fails to cover all scenarios. The 5.8G band, in particular, carries the highest interference avoidance risk due to the lack of reference from old rules or CE standards.
Battery capacity degradation and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues between Battery Management System (BMS) signals and wireless modules may cause excessive transmit power or insufficient receive sensitivity. Without targeted pre-testing, enterprises easily fall into a "test-rework-retest" cycle, delaying certificate acquisition.
We provide end-to-end compliance solutions:
Our customized pre-testing covers critical risk points for battery-powered products, including:
This proactively identifies issues before formal testing, minimizing retest costs.
Led by a team of PhDs, our core engineers have over 10 years of SRRC certification experience. They are well-versed in new rule requirements such as "synthetic antenna gain calculation" and "Bluetooth adaptive testing," enabling rapid review of technical documents (including battery BOMs, wireless module parameter matching tables).
Our laboratory is CNAS-accredited and maintains close technical communication with the Radio Management Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Our testing methods align with those of the "Radio Regulatory Commission," guaranteeing high first-time pass rates. We have successfully helped hundreds of enterprises obtain SRRC certification, covering wireless battery-powered products, routers, servers, EV chargers, wireless modules, and more.
Application Form for Type Approval of Radio Transmitting Equipment: Clearly indicate the basis of Document No. 129 (MIIT Radio [2021] No. 129).
Letter of Request for Change from the Enterprise: Must explain the reason for the upgrade and product information (e.g., product model, specifications, and technical parameter changes related to the new standards).
Electronic copy of the original SRRC certificate: The original physical copy must be returned to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Entrusted Testing Report:Issued by a laboratory with CMA qualification and testing capabilities compliant with Document No. 129.Note: Priority is recommended to select laboratories listed in the official qualification directory (winning bid laboratories) to ensure the report meets the new standards.
